Vidra is a professional and well recognized development agency of the Pannonian Croatia which was established in order to increase the competitiveness of all stakeholders of the County and the Region. This is important institution that provides better economic situation, promotion of the region, market research, specific information and good relationship with investors.

As one the partners on Drava Bicycle route along Drava project, Vidra was responsible for marking of the bike roads in Virovitica-Podravina county and for popularization of a cycle tourism.

Inside the Project

Bicycle route along Drava is IPA CBC HU-HR project that is implementing in period from 1st of April 2013 to 30th of November 2014. Total project budget is 1.634.192,06 EUR and total EU contribution is 1.369.033,36 EUR. Leading beneficiary is South-Transdubian Water Management Directorate with following project partners: Croatian waters and VIDRA – Virovitica-Podravina County’s Development Regional Agency. Cycle tourism is now growing rapidly in Croatia and Hungary, in parallel with renewed interest in personal health and fitness, and with mounting concern over the environmental damage caused by road traffic. The cycle tourism depends on the appropriate transportation network and needs to be developed. The output of the project in Hungary is to pave the Dráva’s dike as part of the Three Rivers Bike Trail, length 5.736 km. On Croatian side, the objective of the project is to modernize the 28.081 km dike crests.

Main idea behind the Project

Vidra wanted a representative website and mobile application which will show the whole potential of bicycle routes along Drava. Beside presentation, it was very important to create useful mobile application which will be compounded of the presentation elements for the locations and routes as well as sports functions which will potentiate usage of the app and cycling through beautiful nature.
